A modern preppy look with a blazer suit, clerical button-down shirt, and crest tie.

The combination of a navy blazer with metal buttons and three patch pockets, paired with matching trousers, creates a suit that reflects the current popularity of American traditional style. The breathable hopsack fabric is comfortable even in summer. The polyester blend also ensures durability, and its tough look, resistant to deformation even with frequent wear, makes it perfect for business use.

The shirt is a Brooks Brothers extra-slim fit, from the time when Isetan released it as an exclusive model. Apparently, because it was only sold at Isetan back then, they were more adventurous with the colors and patterns. A striped cleric button-down shirt is quite rare, but the combination with a crest tie featuring an emblem pattern looks fresh as a pattern-on-pattern suggestion. The way he unbuttons the collar and uses a collar clip is also a playful touch, typical of a master of V-zone styling.

Incidentally, the extra-slim silhouette, now called the "Milano Fit," is currently sold as an inline model. Mr. Uematsu, who takes good care of his belongings, still cherishes and wears the shirt from that time.

The way he deliberately lets the tip of his regimental striped belt hang down from his waist is a subtle but stylish touch. It's clear he's freely enjoying American traditional style. When asked, he revealed that he was an active American football player in his student days. Furthermore, he recalls attending his elementary school entrance ceremony as a child wearing a Tilden sweater, button-down shirt, and bow tie, making him a true "American Ultraman."
