In the 1950s, Oliver Goldsmith sparked a major movement with its radical designs and use of color, becoming synonymous with eyewear in Europe. Although the brand temporarily ceased operations in the 1990s, it made a sensational comeback in 2005, delighting fans around the world. The "Archive Line" we are offering this time features models from the 1950s and 60s, designed under the supervision of Charles Oliver Goldsmith, the second generation of Oliver Goldsmith, who joined the business in 1935. These are the first all-acetate models in approximately six years since 2013. The bold design, characteristic of Britain at the time, such as the rim cutting and the difference in lines between the inner and outer diameters, gives a sense of the brand's identity.
We encourage you to come and see the full lineup in our store.
Archive Line
"SEG/Seg"36,000 yen + tax
The "Seg," characterized by its sharp, straight lines, is a cool and stylish piece. Based on a 6mm thick frame, the upper rim is recessed to 5mm, creating a three-dimensional cut. It's a Wellington shape that is typical of Oliver Goldsmith, with a blend of straight and curved lines.
"STEPMAN"35,000 yen + tax
With its distinctive design that defies categorization, featuring a high-set bridge and a rounded shaft on the side, the "Stepman" is a fashionable model that can be enjoyed by both men and women.
"ANMAN"35,000 yen + tax
The front frame uses 4mm thick material, while the temples are 6mm wide, creating an overall flexible structure. By varying the thickness of the upper rim, it gives a softer impression than a flat teardrop type.
"COLT II"34,000 yen + tax
The "Colt II" is a compact, European vintage-style square frame with a temple protrusion of only about 1mm. The design features a mix of curved rim lines and flat, linear cutting on the front surface.
