Shimaji's original Glenfarclas seems to be gaining popularity among whisky enthusiasts overseas, and we've seen an increase in international customers visiting our store on both weekdays and weekends.


Shimaji : "It seems my bottlings are becoming a hot topic in the whiskey enthusiast community. The desire to seek out delicious things is universal."


However, neither my partner Hiroe nor I are very good at English, so it's quite challenging. Well, thankfully, many of Salon de Shimaji's customers are fluent in English. I'm reminded once again that Salon de Shimaji exists thanks to everyone's support.

We are truly grateful to Ms. Shimaji and all the staff at Salon de Shimaji for having so many customers who are proficient in languages.


Shimaji: "With the Olympics coming up, we'll probably see a lot more foreign visitors. Translation devices will become essential. Of course, we'll also need to study."

Katsuhiko Shimaji is the producer of the Isetan Men's Residence Salon de Shimaji Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building . Born in 1941, he graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University and joined Shueisha. He was assigned to "Weekly Playboy" and became its editor-in-chief in 1983, where he created a sensation with the "Life Advice" column featuring Renzo Shibata, Toko Kon, and Ken Kaiko as respondents, growing the magazine into a million-copy publication. He later served as editor-in-chief of "PLAYBOY Japan" and "BART." After serving as the representative director of Shueisha International, he retired in 2008. He is currently a writer and essayist.
