Even without using bold colors or patterns, a suit eloquently conveys a sense of class.
Last time, I wrote that a plain navy suit can be given a touch of individuality with a patterned shirt and tie, but Mr. Imaizumi has opted for an extremely stoic style, deliberately keeping both color and pattern to a minimum. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that this is a very carefully considered choice. The suit is from Stile Latino, now a cutting-edge brand from Naples. It is a brand that carries on the lineage of Attolini, who is said to be the father of Neapolitan style, and is originally characterized by its glamorous form and wide lapels, but this "Vincenzo" model is smart enough to be used for business. The material is a blend of mohair, linen, and silk. The deep midnight navy color has the dignity of formal wear. The philosophy that "even simple clothes should be of good quality" is characteristic of an intellectual gentleman. It is also an eloquent antithesis to styles that ostentatiously use color and pattern.
