In northeastern Inner Mongolia, summer temperatures can reach a high of 36 degrees Celsius, while winter temperatures can drop to a low of minus 25 degrees Celsius. In this region with extreme temperature fluctuations, cashmere goat babies are born in spring and autumn. Baby cashmere, made only from the downy hair of these goats less than a year old, is a precious fiber, with only 30 to 40 grams obtainable from each goat. Approximately 10 goat downy hairs are needed to make one sweater, and even in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, which accounts for 50% of the world's cashmere production, the annual production is very small.
Baby cashmere uses only the finest downy fibers, carefully cut with scissors around June, about two months later than the usual cashmere harvesting season, when the weather begins to warm up. The fineness is the finest among cashmere fibers, at approximately 13.5 to 14.6 microns. It is characterized by its lightness, fineness, softness, and uniquely smooth and gentle feel against the skin. Incidentally, the brand name Picea comes from the plant of the same name that grows in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is considered an important tree that prevents desertification and grassland degradation, and this baby cashmere brand also engages in activities such as raising cashmere cows in barns and planting Picea trees to protect the rich nature and unique culture of Inner Mongolia.
