The enthusiasm to involve business partners

──What do you think of the M-shaped curve (the silhouette that follows the curves of the thighs and calves) that made Ms. Osaku famous?

The basic structure of the Kobori remains unchanged, but the finishing touches are now done with a hand press. This reflects Osaku's design philosophy more than ever before. We didn't request this; it's a traditional factory, after all. It's a technique they've always possessed.
The Osaku buttons are also original designs, and we adopted them after learning about their production background.

—What do you mean by that?

We were prepared to hand-sew on Kobori buttons.
Osaku was actually not satisfied with ready-made buttons. Modern buttons have large holes and wide spacing, designed with machine sewing in mind. Furthermore, the thread grooves are deep.

--Seven colors made from nut material. You really put in a lot of effort.

Unlike Osaku plastic buttons and the like, the minimum size isn't that big, so even we can manage it.
Kobori Osaku's motto is to do everything that is taken for granted, and it could be said that his aesthetic sense is condensed into this button.
When it comes to Osaku buttons, we can't forget the width of the welt on the hip pockets. While it's usually 5mm, this one is 3mm. Even though it's extremely thin, the D-ring finish is impeccable. Combined with the buttons, the look around the hips is truly elegant.
Kobori says that even at Nagano Alps, only one person can do the beaded rim process. He doesn't hesitate to share the labor-intensive process and proudly says, "I can do it." These pants are the result of this kind of no-holds-barred effort.

—Indeed, even from just a brief conversation, you can feel the enthusiasm of the people on site. I always leave interviewing Mr. Osaku feeling energized, and it seems that your clients feel the same way.

The theme of this project was to see what would happen if we worked head-to-head with Kobori Factory, and I believe that the passion I conveyed through my frequent visits was almost perfectly realized in this project.
