"I feel like I end up buying things in a landslide when I go to a department store." (Fujiwara)

After their shopping date, the couple enjoyed a relaxed chat around a heated table (kotatsu) in a salon at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building . They seemed to thoroughly enjoy this rare private setting. Here, we'll showcase their harmonious chemistry, focusing on their previously unreleased free-flowing conversation.

Yamaguchi , once again, what did you think of Isetan?
Fujiwara: I think I use Isetan the most out of all the department stores. I often buy groceries in the basement, or just drop by when I'm in the area for something else. In terms of the wide selection of fashion items, I feel like there aren't many other options. But it's strange, but I feel like I always end up buying a lot of things in a cascade at department stores. It's also nice that they put everything in Isetan's original shopping bag, so you can't tell which brands I bought from.


Yamaguchi: I find it very useful because I can check out the trends of various brands all at once at the start of the season. It's also helpful that I can see the women's collection all in one place (even though it's in a different building).
Fujiwara: It's really rare for me to go shopping with someone, so it felt like a real date and was really fun (laughs).
Thank you for the Yamaguchi UNDERCOVER boots! It's a shame to use them for fishing, isn't it? (laughs)



Fujiwara bought UNDERCOVER without any pretense (laughs). I completely forgot to mention it during the talk (when it was recorded), but I also bought Ritu's single-use cream fragrance. I don't usually wear perfume, but I'll use this. My favorites are the scents "Natural Mystic" and "Allen".
Yamaguchi's design is so cute! Oh, and I really love the scent too!
Fujiwara: That was the first one I created, "Natural Mystic." "Allen" comes from the lily scent, and it's named after Lily Allen.


Yamaguchi , you're so stylish! I often spend time holed up in rehearsal studios and other enclosed spaces, so I do wear perfume. But I can't wear anything too sexy, so I always carry around this woody one that's a collaboration between Monocle and Comme des Garçons. But you know, when Fujiwara-san says it's nice, I start wanting it (laughs). Let's definitely do another shopping trip sometime. Maybe a final trip to Tsukiji (laughs). We could have a Tsukiji master guide us.
Speaking of Fujiwara , the Tsukiji master... I guess it would be Sakana-kun? (laughs)
Yamaguchi sounds great (laughs). I really hope he comes!


The two met at a dinner party, which was arranged through an introduction by a staff member of a TV program.

We had a great time talking about Fujiwara and Yamaguchi's stories that they can't tell just anyone (laughs). I instantly became a fan. After that, we even went fishing together.
Let's go fishing again, Yamaguchi . Mr. Fujiwara has been an idol of mine, someone who has influenced me ever since I was in high school... When I actually met him, I thought he was a very simple and honest person. It's no wonder that so many people trust him. There are many experts who are knowledgeable in music and fashion individually, but I think Mr. Fujiwara is the only one who can connect the two and express them as a culture. Also, Mr. Fujiwara seems to know a lot about everything.
Fujiwara isn't an expert in any field, you know (laughs). I just want to know a little bit more than everyone else, like one or two steps deeper, and be able to follow any conversation. That way, everyone can have a more enjoyable time. Even with Sakana-kun, I want to have a slightly deeper conversation about fish than everyone else (laughs).
