Make it a habit to consciously put on your tie, then your pocket square.

When I first joined the company, one of my seniors told me, "You should at least wear a pocket square." I wasn't used to wearing suits yet, so I was like, "What's a pocket square? Why do I need to wear one?" But when I saw my senior wearing one, I thought it looked stylish and cool, so I started wearing one as instructed.

As my own suit style developed, I became more conscious of changing how I wore my pocket square depending on the occasion. I was working in the store until March, and when I recommended pocket squares to customers who had ordered custom suits, they often said, "Isn't it a bit pretentious to go to that much trouble?" (laughs).
I've realized that many customers feel that "wearing a pocket square = having to be careful" is something that requires extra effort. However, if you think of "putting on a tie, then putting on a pocket square" as a set, it shouldn't be that difficult.

I believe a pocket square is an essential part of the V-zone of a suit style, a finishing touch. At first, you might be conscious of what others think, but stand tall with your chest held high, adorned with a pocket square, and work with confidence. You can wear it in a TV hold during work hours, and then loosen it a bit when you go out for dinner or drinks after work... If you can use it appropriately, it's truly yours.
