When I was assigned to the men's fair, the thing I wanted to focus on most was creating an environment where people could shop at their own pace and with ease.
Ooka: Indeed, before the men's fair was held for two weeks, it was extremely crowded, especially on the first day and on weekends, at times when it was difficult to even walk through the aisles. We were happy that so many customers came, but we were worried that customers wouldn't be able to browse products at their leisure, and that the staff couldn't even properly serve them, so we wondered if they would come back again.
Sano: I think that holding it over two weeks might have resolved some of the issues.
Ooka: Yes, I think there's still room for improvement.
Masashi Sano (Sales Manager)
By dividing the event into two weeks—the first week for business and the second week for casual events—we were able to create more space in the venue and for displaying products, resulting in an improved environment and allowing us to expand our product range.
While there were many advantages to holding the event over two weeks in Ooka , as someone in charge of the Gentlemen's Fair for the first time, the difficulties were far greater than I had imagined.
When you think of the Sano Men's Fair, you probably think of business items, but last time, casual brands were also very popular, weren't they?
With the Ooka Casual event now taking place across the entire 6th floor of the main building, we were able to feature brands and items that we couldn't before due to space limitations, and it was immediately clear that the number of customers increased. We'll be adding even more casual brands this time around. Please look forward to it!
Expectations for both business and casual wear have risen, and I've noticed more customers than ever before who regularly shop at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building . Ideally, we want to see an increase in customers who are fans of both Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building and the Men's Fair.

Hiroki Ooka (Buyer)
Ooka: That's right. You can shop for the new season's items at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , and then use the Men's Fair when you need to buy in bulk or add to your purchases.
If you were to buy a new suit at Sano Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building it would cost around 70,000 yen. With a budget of 70,000 yen , you could also buy a suit, shirts, ties, and other items for a whole season at the men's sale.
Ooka: At the men's fair, you can even choose to invest 70,000 yen in imported brand bags and shoes that you might normally find hard to afford.
Since the web has become the main focus of Sano Advertising, we want to appeal to even more people, regardless of gender or generation, about the Men's Fair. This time, the web content "Cool Cool Biz" featuring a female fashion writer is different from previous Men's Fairs and we think it will be enjoyable for a wide range of people.
There's a theory that content from a female perspective, like on the Ooka Isetan Men's Net website, is more likely to be viewed by men (laughs). We hope that people will enjoy the men's fair even more, taking this kind of web information into consideration.
Sano: Up until now, we've mostly met customer expectations through the selection of brands and items we offer, but from now on, I think we'll be focusing on satisfying customers through the environment and sales services as well. This time, we'll be holding our first ever raffle at the men's fair, and we're also planning a fair attendant service.
Ooka: After all, the Gentleman's Market is all about continuous evolution.
