BALMAIN HOMME | A new resort style proposed from a cruise line that likens the designer's own life to a journey.

Olivier Rousteing, who became the designer for BALMAIN HOMME at the young age of 25, has now learned that he will forge his own path by continuously proving who he is, having overcome the pressure of that initial appointment.

Balmain Homme's Spring/Summer 2018 collection likens Olivier's own life to a journey, and, inspired by the proverb "The true richness of life comes from actually traveling," it presents the "Cruise in LA" line, named after its LA flagship store. A mix of West Coast-inspired resort style and French style creates a unique resort look that is definitely worth checking out.

The blazon (emblem), which is used extensively on the apparel this season, is an iconic symbol used since the brand's early collections, and has also been used on T-shirts and denim.
Furthermore, high-tech sneakers utilizing stretch material, a trend across fashion, have been released. The brand logo is featured on the upper.

Hooded military coat: ¥395,280

The hooded military coat features the brand's signature large buttons and sturdy cotton gabardine fabric, and this season it's rendered in a clean nude beige, a color that designer Olivier himself likes. Pairing it with white biker jeans and an indigo hoodie creates a fresher, more spring-like look.

The classic biker denim, which debuted in the fall/winter of 2013, has consistently used denim fabric from Okayama, a region renowned for its denim production in Japan. Through three-dimensional cutting and sewing, the silhouette is tight yet the design allows for easy movement.
