The men who attracted Shimaji

Shimaji-san is always charming, and now a series of films featuring men that Shimaji-san finds attractive are scheduled for release.
First up is "Darkest Hour," scheduled for release on Friday, March 30th.

Shimaji : "I love Churchill, and I've read every book about him from cover to cover. You could say I'm an expert. Apparently Churchill smoked 100 cigars a week. I smoke about 40, so I can't even come close. Churchill was called a 'political outcast,' but I think there's no greater leader than him. When I was editor-in-chief, I wanted to be a leader like him, but I wonder how it actually turned out."

Mr. Shimaji may be modest, but he must have been a fantastic leader to have created a magazine that sold a million copies.
Next up is "Schumann's Bar Book," scheduled for release in April. This film follows Charles Schumann, the owner and bartender of a top bar that has enjoyed unwavering popularity in Munich for over 35 years and the author of an innovative cookbook, as he travels to famous establishments around the world.

Shimaji : "He has published a book with the same title as the movie. It's a very informative book with an incredible number of cocktail recipes and explanations of various alcoholic beverages. Surprisingly, he and I are the same age. He's a cool and handsome guy, isn't he? And he's a fantastic bartender. I've always dreamed of becoming either an editor or a bartender. Luckily, I've achieved both, but I'm just a part-time bartender on weekends, so there's no comparison. I'm planning to have a conversation with him when he comes to Japan next time, so I'd like to talk at length about alcohol and bars around the world."

I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of chemistry will occur when Shimaji-san meets Schumann, who is like the German version of Shimaji-san.

Shimaji : "Compared to these two men, I may still have a long way to go. But it's a good thing to have people and things to admire. If humans were perfect, there would be no God in this world."

This week's quote
