As everything becomes mobile and the items we carry in our bags get smaller and smaller, the sacoche, which was a hot topic as a shoulder bag trend last year, has evolved even further this year as the "micro shoulder bag."
The "Micro Shoulder" bag is sized to hold a smartphone and a compact wallet, and when worn over the shoulder, it fits neatly against the body's lines. When paired with a T-shirt or casual shirt, it adds a sophisticated, relaxed touch to your style. It will be available at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building on the basement floor in the men's bag section.

Reasons why I don't carry a bag since becoming an assistant buyer

I don't carry a bag when I commute. My wallet, phone, and earphones are all in my pockets, and my IC cards and other cards are in my wallet. Nowadays, I only carry a bag when I'm traveling or attending exhibitions.

Before taking on my current role, when I was a stylist, I carried a lot of things, including a large backpack that could even be used for mountain climbing. However, after becoming an assistant and primarily doing desk work, I was freed from carrying a bag. At first, it felt strange to go hands-free, but in winter, the pockets of my coat serve as a substitute for a bag, and in summer, there are fewer pockets, so I can reduce the amount of things I carry even further.

The advantage of going hands-free is that you can go anywhere without carrying anything. For example, if you're invited somewhere and you have a bag, you have to leave it at the cloakroom if it's a hotel, or look for a locker at the station if you're taking the train. It's much more relaxing not having a bag.

Perfect for me, as I only want to carry the bare minimum.

I heard that "wearable bags" (sacoches) sold very well last year at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , and this year they're really pushing this "micro shoulder bag." I also used a neck-holder type sacoche and a mini shoulder bag last year, and I found them especially useful as pockets during the summer.

I wanted something new this year, and a micro shoulder bag is reasonably priced. I think it can be used as a coordinating item, depending on the styling and purpose, or by changing the material depending on the season.

For this time of year, leather is definitely the way to go. Black or brown are easy to match with outfits, and you can choose according to your style—leather for a dressy look, nylon for a sporty look, etc.—it's like an accessory. Personally, I prefer to carry only the bare essentials rather than believing that bigger is better.

Holding hands is definitely better than carrying a bag!

I go to Paris every year to see fashion shows and exhibitions, but I'm always very careful about theft. This year, I put my wallet, phone, earphones, and passport in a micro shoulder bag and wore it around my neck, while keeping my battery and Wi-Fi in my coat pocket as I walked around the city.

This time, micro shoulder bags from 12 popular brands will be available, and I also like the drawstring style. A drawstring micro shoulder bag would look great with a big silhouette spring coat, wide pants, and leather shoes.

Also, for example, if she comes over to visit before a holiday and the next day we go to a nearby restaurant for lunch, I could lend her my micro shoulder bag. The fact that it can be shared between a man and a woman is also appealing. It's definitely better to hold her hand than to carry a bag!
