Vietnam when Nigel first started working in design
When Nigel began his design career, Vietnam, far from Britain, was in the midst of war—the Nigel Cabourn Spring/Summer 2018 collection, themed "Whatever Happened to Sean Flynn," draws inspiration from Sean Flynn, a war photographer who was active during the Vietnam War.
The collection reinterprets movements and events of the time, such as the Flower Power movement, for the modern era. With camouflage patterns and khaki as the main colors, it explores the functionality and aesthetics of military wear, such as military jackets.
A collaboration based on the best-selling model "Camper".
Timex is a pioneer in the military watch category, and in fact, at the request of the U.S. military, it was the first company to develop the U.S. military's earliest military watch, the "Midget," in 1917.
This American watch brand boasts a history of over 160 years, and its widespread appeal—said to be owned by one in three people worldwide—combined with its versatility that suits everyone, and the value that comes from its long history, has made it a globally beloved standard for casual watches.
During the Vietnam War, Timex developed a "disposable watch" that did not require repair or replacement in the field. The U.S. government purchased it and issued it to U.S. soldiers. This watch was later sold as a civilian product under the name "Camper," and its high level of practicality has made it a bestseller to this day.
The "Namwatch," a collaboration watch based on the "Camper," which is widely recognized even today as the "pinnacle of practical watches" or the "ultimate basic," is a men's staple and a timeless badge of honor.
