Shibata, the buyer in charge of authentic casual wear on the 7th floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building recommends "style" rather than brands or items. "We propose vintage items as the 'next style' that can be added to customers' current wardrobes to make dressing more enjoyable. Experience how mass-produced items, like military wear, that have gradually been phased out over time can become 'one-of-a-kind' and true fashion," he says.

Shibata, who announced that he would be opening a vintage clothing store on the 7th floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building chose LILY1ST VINTAGE, a selector that focuses on military deadstock mainly from Europe, as his partner. "LILY1ST VINTAGE selects 'vintage clothing for men,' mainly European vintage clothing from the 1920s to the 1970s, and stands out for the excellence of their restoration work in Japan," says Shibata.

The "next style" that Shibata proposes is a broadcloth shirt paired with military pants. A custom-made white broadcloth shirt, a larger size version of a shirt by up-and-coming designer Shin Matsushima from cantate , is paired with French military "M47" pants and monk strap shoes. This elegant vintage style is exactly what's in vogue right now.
