"In the International Creators section, there is growing interest in remaking and reusing vintage clothing, and a sustainable sensibility and the feeling of a customized, one-of-a-kind item are highly valued," says Takahashi. CRAFTIVE bags strike a perfect balance between being too heritage-oriented and having a modern, urban feel.

Craftive debuted in Spring/Summer 2018 as a bag brand created by an Italian design duo with experience working for numerous luxury brands. This season, it will only be available in Japan at Isetan Men's.

"I was amazed by the ability to collect reusable parts, such as using pockets from deadstock German military cargo pants from the 60s and 70s as decoration, or using seat belt material, and then transforming them into such a modern bag," says Takahashi. The base design is original, but the remaking process adds texture and a modern feel, and the color scheme and material usage give each piece a truly one-of-a-kind feel. The balance between the globally recognized concept of "sustainability" and creativity is refreshing.

The highly anticipated debut will take place on Wednesday, March 7th. All five styles will be available at the International Creators section on the 2nd floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building where the brand is sold.
