"Astier de Villatte has a workshop in Paris, and its unique texture, achieved by using black clay sourced from the outskirts of Paris and applying a white glaze, is its charm. At first glance, it appears classic and traditional, but as a brand founded in 1996, its elegant pieces, inspired by traditional 19th-century pottery, exude a beautiful presence."

What particularly appeals to Uzawa is that, "When you see them in the store, they have a grayish hue, but when you place them on your table at home, the translucent white is beautiful and really makes the food stand out. Each piece is different due to the way the glaze is applied, and the fact that no two are exactly alike is also appealing, and many women become fans and start collecting them."
