Alexander McQueen | The Fall/Winter 2017 collection beautifully and elegantly depicts the travels of the poet Oscar Wilde.(1/2)

The Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 2017 collection was inspired by the travels of Oscar Wilde, the British poet, novelist, and playwright who was active at the end of the 19th century, from London to Paris.
His "wit, intelligence, beauty," and "style" are expressed in a modern way through the brand's filter.

At L'Hotel, the hotel on the Left Bank of Paris where Oscar Wilde passed away, a painting of two golden peacocks against a green background still hangs above the bed, just as it did back then. This "peacock painting" is the central motif of this collection.

This set, featuring a bold depiction of a Victorian London map from the 1870s, represents a journey from London to Paris. With its distinctive Alexander McQueen shape, it embodies both past and present Britishness.
This set, featuring all-over peacock embroidery, is one of the looks that pays tribute to Oscar Wilde.
