Ed Robert Judson, who continues to create original leather goods using handcrafted techniques, will be holding a limited-time promotion at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 1F = Men's Accessories. The event, which will start on Wednesday, June 28th, will feature a limited number of new series made using the traditional "white tanning" method from Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture.

The brand name Ed Robert Judson is derived from the name of a fictional craftsman, a combination of Robert Hooke, the scientist who discovered the theory of spring elasticity, Whitcomb Judson, the inventor who invented the zipper, and "Edo," meaning Tokyo. Designer Ken Ezaki started the brand in 2009 after his hobby of leather crafting grew into a full-fledged venture. In 2014, the brand expanded overseas, and continues to release original works that pursue originality with designs and ideas that embody the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi.


This promotion features a new series of "white tanned" leather, which catches the eye with its milky white color. "White tanned" leather is made using a traditional method passed down in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, where the raw hides of cows and other animals are dehaired, exposed to the sun, and then finished by rubbing them with salt and rapeseed oil.

This uniquely designed wallet uses "white tanned" leather, which is made using only natural materials without the use of chemicals. It features a comfortable thickness and a supple texture, along with a distinctive look reminiscent of Japanese washi paper. The result is a product that embodies Japanese craftsmanship, blending Japanese sensibilities with Japanese tradition.
