At Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building B1F, men's shoes section, JOSEPH CHEANEY , a long-established shoemaker from Northampton, England, is holding its first-ever "1 of 1" personal order service, previously only available at its flagship store in the UK. Customers can enjoy creating their own unique pair of shoes from a wide variety of combinations.


Founded in 1886 in Desborough, Northamptonshire, the "holy land of shoemaking," JOSEPH CHEANEY is a rare shoemaker that still practices "PURELY MADE IN ENGLAND" shoemaking, carrying out all processes from cutting to final polishing in Northampton.

Starting Wednesday, May 17th, the "1 of 1" personal order service will allow customers to choose from five styles using the brand's classic "125" last: a full brogue and semi-brogue with closed lacing, a double monk strap, and a cap toe and plain toe with open lacing. The "125" last, created to commemorate the brand's 125th anniversary, features a narrower width and a smaller heel than previous models, prioritizing a comfortable fit. While incorporating a smart look, the well-balanced, rounded toe creates a classic feel.


The upper leather is calfskin from the renowned tannery Weinheimer, available in six colors. Both the full brogue and semi-brogue styles can be ordered with a single color for the entire upper, or with different colors for each contrasting section. Up to six colors can be used in a single pair of full brogues, while five colors can be used in semi-brogues.

Furthermore, the lining and heel sock come in four colors, and the "1 of 1" and "JOSEPH CHEANEY & SONS" embossing, which serve as proof of a personal order, can be selected from five colors. In addition to matching the eyelets, buckles, and shoelaces to the upper color, you can also enjoy the playful aspect of ordering by deliberately choosing accent colors. The outsole can also be finished with a semi-black finish, which is not available in the ready-made line.


In addition, the lining features a small window, allowing for the engraving of initials. The finish, which strongly emphasizes that each pair is a one-of-a-kind item , is another attractive feature unique to personal orders. Furthermore, the "1 of 1" personal order comes with a full range of accessories. The ordered shoes include a dedicated shoe tree and a brand-original shoe care kit. They are delivered in a box that shines with the words "1 of 1".
