Buyer Yuki Yamaura's Guide to Pants: Beginner's Edition | "New Pants" You'll Want to Wear This Spring/Summer(1/2)
"We've seen changes in the 'waist area' of trousers since last year, and a wide variety of trousers will be available this spring and summer. Trousers are an important item for the spring and summer season, including for cool biz attire. Please take note of the changes in details and silhouettes and enjoy coordinating your outfits."

From "Cool Biz" in 2005 to beautiful, long legs, and new trends.
"I see the 'Cool Biz' initiative, which started in 2005, as a positive development that brought significant change and freedom to summer business styles. Historically, it was unprecedented for Japanese businessmen to consider the kind of clothes they wear to work. With the rise of environmental awareness, they were told to 'take off layers,' and I think the past decade or so has been a time when people have been more conscious of their summer outfits, trying to express themselves with fewer items," says Yamaura.
"And as an extension of taking off the jacket, the keywords for single trousers that look good without a tie have been 'leg-flattering' and 'colored trousers,' and this trend has continued for the past few years. Summer men's style has focused on making legs look nice and long, and on looking stylish with color," he continues.

Following the "return to classics" trend that began last year, trousers featuring pleats and bespoke details such as waistbands and extended fly lines have all appeared. "The first thing I want you to pay attention to is the 'new beautiful legs' style," he recommends.
