Kanegae : Yes. Mr. Hoshiba suddenly offered me flowers at that moment, and I thought, "That's so cool."

Mr. Hoshiba, could you tell us about your Valentine's Day memories, Ms. Kanegae?
When I was a student at Kanegae Elementary School, I received a letter from a boy that said, "I love you, Kanegae-san," and I didn't know what to do, so I wrote back a letter saying, "Thank you."

Even in Kanegae , I'd love to receive flowers from a man right now. Japanese men are usually quite content to receive chocolate, but when I talk to my fellow Miss International contestants, I often hear that in other countries, women exchange message cards and receive flowers from men. Receiving flowers from a man is always a wish for women.
Hoshiba : In that sense, "Flower Valentine" is the ideal form of a relationship between a man and a woman. Flowers can be given anytime, not just on Valentine's Day.

Girolamo's story of "expressing feelings with flowers"

Ms. Kanegae Hoshiba, have you ever met Girolamo, the cover model for the magazine 'LEON'?
No, there isn't one in Kanegae .
If Girolamo met Hoshiba , I'm sure he'd fall in love with him... (laughs)
I've never met Kanegae , but I think Italian men are wonderful because they have a relaxed yet alluring charm.
Hoshiba: That's right. It has a relaxed feel and is stylish, and I learned from Girolamo-san that "if you can't say it with words, say it with flowers."
So you express your feelings with flowers in Kanegae .


Girolamo Hoshiba and his wife met on a plane to Italy, and he found her to be a very pleasant woman. So, when he arrived in Italy, he looked up the name of the hotel she was staying at at the airport, hoping to meet her again, and sent her a room with flowers.
Kanegae sounds wonderful! And that's how you became his wife.
