Suman Dhakhwa | Promotion of jewelry featuring "one-of-a-kind wood grain patterns" to be held for the first time at the men's department store.
- 01.18 Wed -01.24 Tue
- Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building 1F Men's Accessories
From Wednesday, January 18th, the Suman Dhakhwa promotion will be held at the Men's Accessories section on the 1st floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building . A wide variety of jewelry inspired by traditional Japanese techniques will be presented in an unprecedented selection.

In his twenties, Suman Dachwa went to Germany to hone his silver crafting skills. While being exposed to various arts and techniques, he was particularly influenced by "mokume-gane," an ancient Japanese metalworking technique passed down from the Edo period. He was captivated by the unique patterns, designs, warm colors, and depth of this technique, which is used to decorate the tsuba (sword guard) of Japanese swords, and he learned the technique through self-study, through much trial and error.

The brand's main motif, "MOKUME/wood grain," is created by layering different materials such as silver and copper, and then going through a long and quiet process of "hammering, stretching, and twisting" hundreds of times by hand to produce its unique wood grain pattern. One of the charms of each handmade piece of jewelry is that no two pieces have the same pattern.
