Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 5th floor = Order Shirts will be hosting its first ever order fair for MAJIMA, a textile brand that offers unique "Japanese modern" fabrics that combine traditional Japanese patterns with contemporary arrangements. This fair will focus on this currently trending brand, which has been producing products for world-renowned fashion houses for over 30 years. The fair will run until November 1st (Tuesday).

Majima modernizes traditional patterns based on the Japanese aesthetic of nature, adapting them to contemporary styles. Without being confined to traditional Japanese aesthetics, they express sophisticated, primitive art designs that cannot be achieved through weaving, using dyeing techniques.

To create the stripes, two plates are made to represent a single line, and the stencils are joined together to express the shading. The unique texture, including the bleeding and blurring that is characteristic of stencil dyeing, is its charm.

While traditional printed patterns are often perceived as being for casual wear, this design has been refined to be suitable for elegant occasions, such as when paired with a suit. Furthermore, the fabric is processed in Hamamatsu, one of Japan's leading cotton-producing regions, and the Kyoto dyeing process, which uses traditional Japanese colors, was commissioned from a Kyoto Yuzen dyeing stencil carver, resulting in delicate and visually striking lines.
