CERRUTI is taking over Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building . As part of the Mitsukoshi Isetan-wide campaign "Italian Week," which began on September 27th (Tuesday), and coinciding with the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Italy, the event, titled "'IL SIG.NINO CERRUTI' Tessuti, Moda e Cinema (Cerruti Cinema Project)," will showcase items inspired by costumes from classic films. The world of CERRUTI will be expressed across three floors, with the 1st floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building being the main promotional area. The event will run until October 4th (Tuesday).

Nino Cerruti, the third generation of the Cerruti family, transformed a textile mill founded in Biella, Italy in 1881 into a major fashion brand. He is a "legend" who has long led the Italian fashion industry.

Of particular note is their extensive experience providing costumes for numerous European and Hollywood films. They have had a significant impact on the world of men's clothing through film, and an archive exhibition celebrating their achievements was held at the recent "Pitti Immagine Uomo 88." For this year's Italian Week, they are presenting a special collection in collaboration with various brands, using fabrics inspired by these film costumes. For example, the Italian-French co-production film "Borsalino," released in 1970. One such example is the suit that originated from the costumes worn by the film's stars, Jean-Paul Belmondo and Alain Delon. "We struggled to design clothes that would satisfy the demands of these two great actors. I'm happy that the fabric we created, with the film's story fully in mind, has now become a model for suit fabrics worn by dapper gentlemen," Cerruti recalls. Regarding the current project, Cerruti says, "I think we were able to inherit the character of the material and the design of that time, while giving it a modern twist."

At Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 1st floor promotion area, you'll find a collection of stylish, modernized versions of the film's world, primarily featuring imported brands such as TAGLIATORE , LARDINI , Belvest , and Stile Latino.

Additionally, at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 4th floor, in the Business Clothing and Made-to-Measure sections, Japanese sartorialists, tailors, and factory brands will collaborate with Cerruti fabrics. Items from up-and-coming tailors and fashion houses around the world, inspired by movie costumes, as well as reproduced fabrics, will be available. Furthermore, on the 8th floor, Isetan Men's Residence will exhibit valuable archives owned by Mr. Cerruti.
