MARNI 's Fall/Winter 2016-17 Men's Collection: A fresh take on a unique sense of balance.

Designer Consuelo Castiglioni's MARNI Fall/Winter men's collection made a bold and playful impact on Milan Fashion Week with its sizing and layering styles.

What made a fresh impression were the loose silhouettes of the clothes that softly enveloped the body, creating a minimalist yet soft and elegant atmosphere. From wrap coats with deep slits and parkas featuring funnel necks (necklines that extend in a tubular shape along the neck), to shirts with gathered necklines and open backs, these were effectively used in layered styles.

The double-breasted coat has a straight, flowing silhouette, while the voluminous single-pleated trousers have their hems gathered and fastened with buttons at the ankles to create a softer shape.

The details that caught my eye included broken cuffs, decaying floral prints, and cloud motifs, while fur materials such as astrakhan and nutria added a rich texture to the collection.

Each item features MARNI 's signature minimalist and romantic finish, yet the balance is deliberately disrupted to create a unique sense of equilibrium. Through the ingenious arrangement and editing of elements and details, a gentle atmosphere is created that appeals to the wearer's sensibilities.
