The "World Sandal Market" started on Wednesday, July 20th, at the men's shoe section on the first basement floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building . Following last year's event, this second edition features a total of 13 brands and approximately 150 styles of sandals, offering a larger volume and greater variety than last year. Just as sneakers have expanded the occasions in which they can be worn, sandals are positioned as "urban summer footwear," offering sandals that can be worn not only in active situations but also in other settings.

During this period, on Saturdays and Sundays, as part of the fun of wearing sandals, we will be holding a stud customization event for sandals purchased from us.
Following last year's success, Kentaro Shimada from Headways, the provider of the Vin & Age brand which offers original leather goods adorned with studs, will be visiting the store. He will be customizing the thongs of your favorite sandals with studs on the spot, according to your request.

While setting up the often monotonous "flip-flop style" with brands like Island Slippers, Shimada, who enjoys surfing regularly, also gives them his seal of approval, saying, "You can wear them hard in the ocean without worrying about the studs coming off."
