RING JACKET | Ready-to-wear clothing with the comfort of bespoke tailoring, produced at our directly managed Kaizuka factory, a world-class product.

RING JACKET has always maintained a classic feel while incorporating modern elements, and has now become a brand that is attracting attention from well-dressed people all over the world. Not only is the design updated every season while keeping up with trends, but the fit is also outstanding. One of the reasons for its popularity is the golden ratio pattern making that has been perfected after years of research into the Japanese physique, resulting in a body-hugging fit that suits anyone.

Tomohiro Inaba, who is in charge of business clothing on the 5th floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building explains the reason: " RING JACKET is a leading Japanese factory brand. Not only is the sewing quality excellent, but their selection of materials and the range of clothing items such as ties and shirts that are in line with current trends are outstanding. It is one of the few brands that creates a new sense of trend every season."

In 1954, RING JACKET established its suit factory in Kaizuka, Osaka, with the desire to create "ready-to-wear clothing that feels like bespoke tailoring." For over 60 years since then, the brand has maintained a strong commitment to its unique craftsmanship, state-of-the-art equipment, and high-quality materials, creating a truly one-of-a-kind style. An essential aspect of the brand's story is its dedication to patterns. In particular, the "forward shoulder" tailoring (as seen in the photo above), which is the most distinctive feature of the patterns composed of more than 40 parts, captures the characteristics of Japanese people, who tend to have a thin chest and a slightly hunched posture. The pattern, which is narrower in the front and wider in the back, is unique to RING JACKET and fits the curves of the body.

To make the most of its unique pattern, the garment incorporates distinctive sewing techniques such as "interlining" to create a three-dimensional effect in the chest and "eight stitches" to give the lapels a rolled look, along with meticulous attention to the amount of ease incorporated into the fabric, resulting in a beautifully rounded silhouette. The collar line also offers a high level of fit, and the advanced "finishing" technique, which uses ironing to create a three-dimensional shape, ensures a clean, flowing drape from the shoulders to the collar.

Another particularly striking aspect of the brand's factory was the absence of the loud machine noises and subtle vibrations often heard in many sewing factories. As mentioned earlier, this is because they rely heavily on handwork, and even when using sewing machines, they slow down the speed and sew slowly to create a feel as close to handmade as possible.

Furthermore, before cutting, the fabric is first relaxed by applying heat and steam in the company's own fulling machine, restoring its original texture before cutting. This commitment to slow, careful, and high-quality craftsmanship, rather than mass production or efficiency, is one of its distinguishing features.

(Photo above) is the "Model 184," the oldest model in RING JACKET 's history. With a well-balanced silhouette that follows the body, and a lapel width and V-zone depth that are not affected by trends, this carefully calculated design possesses timeless beauty. Inaba, the person in charge, concluded meaningfully, "When trying out RING JACKET , I recommend starting with this 'Model 184.' Because if you wear this, you will be able to feel everything the brand has to offer."
