The partnership between the Japanese national football team and Dunhill, which began in 2000, is now in its 17th year, and following last year's "MADE TO MATCH" concept, the 2016 Japanese national football team official suit has been created.

The theme of Dunhill's custom tailoring service is for each athlete to become their true, confident selves before a match. This special garment, created through Dunhill's tailoring service, highlights each athlete's individuality and supports them as they face the competition in their most beautiful form.

The key visual (pictured above) recreates the atmosphere of a traditional British social club, strikingly showcasing the players standing there with their distinct personalities and confident presence. It embodies the ideal image that resonates with the "MADE TO MATCH" concept, which is about "gaining confidence in what you wear, allowing your outer and inner self to become more authentically yourself, and creating a 'MATCH UP' experience."

Each suit, crafted over two months after meticulous measurements, is a product of Dunhill's exceptional tailoring methods and accompanies the athletes on their journey to victory.


Expressing the dress code of a British gentleman's club.

The jacket and trousers are made from 100% Super 120s wool, and the navy-based houndstooth pattern gives a light and airy impression, making it a special design. The jacket is a single-breasted, two-button style with notched lapels, side vents, and slant pockets, and is tailored in the house silhouette "St. James" fit for a masculine look.

Inside the suit, the words "Made Exclusively For JAPAN NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM," signifying that it is the official suit of the SAMURAI BLUE (Japan National Football Team), are sewn in along with the SAMURAI BLUE team emblem.

The trousers feature a flat front, and all models offered through Dunhill's custom tailoring service are available for order, including single-pleat and flat-front models with side adjusters.

Shirts, ties, tie bars, and belts that enhance the impression of a suit.

The shirt is made of 100% cotton and features a cutaway collar with convertible cuffs. It uses a specially finished royal oxford fabric that is wrinkle-resistant and has a superior feel. The gusset is light blue, adding a touch of SAMURAI BLUE.

The tie is made of 100% silk in a navy background, adorned with stripes in four colors: blue, red, yellow, and white. Like the club ties of British sports teams, the design incorporates the JFA colors into the regimental stripes. The back of the wide end is printed with the words "Made Exclusively For JAPAN NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM by dunhill," while the narrow end features the SAMURAI BLUE (Japan national football team) emblem woven into it. The tie bar features a blue stripe design on the front.
