GISELe MEN x ISETAN MEN'S | A limited-time promotion to commemorate the launch of the magazine "Gisele Men," which focuses on "living with stylish cosmetics."
From Wednesday, April 20th, the cosmetics section on the 1st floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building will be hosting a limited-time promotion in collaboration with the magazine "GISELe MEN" (Shufunotomo Co., Ltd.) to commemorate its launch. Stylish and fashionable men are, as expected, particular about their interiors and accessories. The same goes for their choice of cosmetics. What kind of cosmetics are they incorporating into their lifestyles...?
A living space born from the predetermined harmony of planned disharmony, crafted with the architect's meticulous attention to detail.
Makoto Tanijiri (architect)
Representative of SUPPOSE DESIGN OFFICE. Born in Hiroshima in 1974. An architect who has attracted attention both domestically and internationally, based in Tokyo and Hiroshima.
In front of the lined-up books is John Masters Organics hair wax.
This is the "Tokyo home" of Ms. Tanijiri, who is busy traveling between Hiroshima, Tokyo, and occasionally overseas.
"For me, living space is a place to express my thoughts. I designed this house myself, and my focus was on not over-designing it. When we stripped the interior during demolition, we accidentally discovered a wall, and I incorporated that into the design. You could say that serendipity is a design created by nature, so I wanted to create a chemical reaction between that and my own thoughts."
Furthermore, we got a glimpse of Mr. Tanijiri's unique perspective on men's grooming.
"Getting older means letting go of nature. I do care about cleanliness, but more than that, I think it's important to be natural and effortless."
Clinique for Men and Aesop skincare products are products that people continue to use because they feel good.

John Masters Organics hair care products make you feel like your hair is getting healthier when you use them.
I was blown away by the bathroom sink, which seemed to belong to a cosmetics enthusiast, located in the back of the stylish room.
Kei Morimoto (Lecturer at Bunka Fashion College)
Lecturer in Fashion Design and Clothing Production at Bunka Fashion College, Department of Fashion Technology.
The apartment, which was renovated last September, is a stylish space that blends new and old elements.
"One thing I was particular about during the renovation was not putting up doors from the entrance to the living room and bedroom. It makes the space feel more spacious, and the light flows in nicely during the day. A lot of the interior is handmade. The table is made by combining an antique sewing machine table with a stand that I painted myself, and I made the chairs myself or repainted ready-made ones... I like to add that extra touch."

I fell in love with the Cool Grease Superior packaging at first sight, which sits in the center of the bathroom counter. The bathroom is filled with my frequently used Aesop and Lab Series hair care products.
"What I particularly like is the bathroom sink. I love cosmetics, so you probably don't think I have a lot of them in a man's room, right? I only line up things with cool packaging, but actually I have a lot more on the shelves (laughs). I often buy cosmetics on impulse when I happen to pass by something. I have a weakness for scented products, so before I know it, my body care items have increased."

She pulled out a Kiehl's lip balm from her pocket. The fact that her keys have a measuring tape attached shows she's a fashion design instructor after all.
A French shabby chic interior where you can comfortably spend time with your two daughters and wife.
Masahiro Iwakami (Hair Salon Owner)Representative of MAGNOLiA hair salon in Aoyama. In addition to salon work, she is active in a wide range of fields, including training, seminars, and photo shoots for professional magazines.
Ms. Iwakami, the salon owner, lives in a detached house that was just completed last year.
"What I focused on was creating a spacious terrace and living room. The interior has a French shabby chic feel with a touch of industrial style, giving it a neutral look. I have two daughters, so I aimed for a feminine space, but I also mixed in leather and rugged wood sofas and tables to add a cool touch. The terrace can be used for meals, so it's a place where I can spend enjoyable time with my daughters on my days off. On sunny days, I also do office work there. I love plants, so I plan to use it as a space to grow plants in the coming seasons."

I use Valmont face masks and creams together with my wife.
Regarding the cosmetics I use,
"Because of my job, I get asked to taste-test a lot of skincare products from manufacturers. I tend to stick with the ones that I like the feel of. Since I'm in a customer-facing business, cleanliness is paramount. I aim for healthy skin through skincare."

On the bathroom counter are Lab Series skincare products, Eral, and Pevonia Botanica.
The coexistence of aesthetic beauty and functionality; the choice of items speaks volumes about one's style.
Yoji Yoneyama (Jewelry Designer)
MARS is a jewelry brand that prioritizes design and functionality, and is committed to high-quality materials and techniques. The representative and designer of MARS.
When creating jewelry, Ms. Yoneyama says she strives to "create things that are not influenced by trends and prioritize quality," and this philosophy is also reflected in her sense of interior design at home.
"The polar bear figurine is an antique from Lomonosov, Russia. Its soft silhouette and sturdy presence always bring me comfort whenever I look at it. I also bought the Marc Newson Super Guppy Lamp over 20 years ago. It was designed with inspiration from highway ramps, and as someone who loves old cars, I was drawn to its excellent design and bought it on impulse. I believe that jewelry and interior items are things that can be used for a long time, and sometimes they become a part of a person's character and memories."

I love using vertueux skincare products. "This oil makes me feel refreshed when I apply it." Mr. Smith hair care products look great even when simply placed on a shelf.
