Formal dress code

Daytime formal attire: Morning coat; Daytime semi-formal attire: Director's suit

Evening formal wear: tailcoats and tuxedos; black suits and colored suits that can be worn day or night.

This time, we will be introducing formal attire supervised by the formal shop on the 5th floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building in two parts: Part 1 and Part 2.


Daytime attire

Morning coat


A morning coat is formal daytime attire. Formal attire is the most formal type of clothing. It is worn by the groom, the groom's father, and the guest of honor (the main guest at the wedding, such as a company boss or matchmaker) at weddings; by those in high positions at award ceremonies, garden parties, commemorative ceremonies, entrance ceremonies, and graduation ceremonies; and by the organizers and attendees of funerals, memorial services, company funerals, and public funerals. Morning coats are often worn at formal ceremonies. The shirt should have a wing collar or regular collar. The tie should be striped or solid gray. The pocket square should be white linen with a three-peak design. The photo shows attire for a celebratory occasion. For funerals, a black tie is worn, and the pocket square is omitted.
