The rain that had continued until the day before had miraculously subsided, and the evening of Saturday, July 11th, was perfect for a party, with strong sunshine that hinted at the beginning of summer, and a pleasant breeze blowing from time to time.
Charlie Weiss, a "master of sophisticated entertainment," hosted a one-night-only special party called "The Summer Pranks" at Aoyama Laputa Garden in Minato Ward, Tokyo.


The event, held poolside on a rooftop, featured a dress code specified by Charlie for his invited guests: a "beach suit" as proposed by Isetan Men's. This set-up style, combining light shorts with tailored pieces, is suitable for a variety of occasions, from resort weddings to summer parties, and represents a new form of formal wear that elevates casual styles.


The main event of the party was a beach style collection showcasing "beach suits" in a runway format. The show featured beach styles incorporating summery items such as jackets in cool materials and colors, shorts with playful patterns, Panama hats, and sunglasses. The show concluded with Hiroshi Ohnishi, President and CEO of Mitsukoshi Isetan Co., Ltd., who is also close friends with Charlie Weiss. Dressed in a beach suit with red accents on the chest and belt, he expressed his gratitude to the guests for their continued patronage.




The venue also offered a variety of food, drinks, and programs that were "requested by Charlie Weiss." Usagiya, a Japanese confectionery shop famous for its dorayaki (red bean paste pancakes), offered "Usagi Ice," which is shaved ice topped with dorayaki bean paste and honey, and finished with sake. In addition, guests were served Hennessy cognac and soda, which is one of Charlie's recent favorites.

In addition, the event featured a dazzling bottle-handling performance by flair bartender Akiko Tomita and a mini-live performance by guitarist and vocal performer Saigenji, further enlivening the venue.


The party's title, "Pranks," refers to harmless pranks. True to its title, which evokes the playful spirit of "beach suits," this one-night-only party, filled with adult wit, came to a close in a glamorous mood. Charlie didn't make an appearance, but let's look forward to seeing him at the next party.
