PITTI IMMAGINE UOMO | Buyers report from the scene at Pitti, the world's largest men's fashion trade fair [Day 2]

The 88th PITTI IMAGINE UOMO, one of the world's leading menswear trade fairs, is being held in Florence, Italy from June 17th to 20th. The second day started with a light drizzle, but the rain soon stopped, and the event proceeded in pleasantly warm weather. The number of visitors was overwhelmingly larger than on the first day, and the venue was filled with excitement.

Looking at this year's "PITTI," while the theme color is a key point, the marine color combination of navy and white remains a staple for Spring/Summer 2016. Also, as I briefly mentioned in yesterday's report , a trend over the past few years has been the frequent appearance of earth tones such as brown and khaki, which are usually featured in Autumn/Winter collections. Furthermore, printed shirts and pants, which have been must-have items for the past few seasons, are shifting towards a more monochromatic style, using similar colors.

White, this year's key color, has been notably used in shirts and pants as a supporting color to highlight the main item, but many brands have successfully incorporated it into jackets, offering exquisite shades such as sand beige and off-white. This is one area that Isetan Men's would definitely like to try.

While exchanging information with visitors, it seems that differentiating brands is a little more difficult this year. On the other hand, there are many items with colors that are actually easy to wear. In previous years, the most memorable items were the show-stopping color schemes that made people think, "Who would wear this?", but this time, in that sense, there were many items in the lineup that made people think, "I want this," and "I want to wear this."

We will continue reporting on the exhibition tomorrow, the third day.
