Q: My suede shoes are getting dirty, but I don't know how to clean them!

A. Don't worry if it gets dirty! Just use the care products to clean it.

Respondent: Sekikawa, Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building <br>Suede shoes can be worn both on and off duty, so I'm sure many people own a pair. However, depending on the weather, you might hesitate to wear them out.
But don't worry! Suede is actually a material that can withstand rain and dirt if properly cared for.
With just two simple steps, you can keep it looking beautiful for a long time!

Step 1
Brush the fur to remove any dirt from within the fibers.
At this point, gently brush the entire shoe in a consistent direction, following the direction of the fur.
The direction of the fur varies depending on the shoe.
The trick is to brush in various directions to find the direction in which the suede should be worn (the direction in which the entire suede doesn't turn whitish).

Step 2
I've applied waterproofing spray.

In addition to being waterproof, it also prevents color fading and makes it less prone to dirt.
The key to applying the spray is to hold it about 15cm away from the shoe and spray in a circular motion around the shoe twice to ensure even coverage.
Also, waiting about 30 minutes after spraying will allow the waterproofing effect to fully set.
Also, in situations like this...
Even with regular cleaning, stubborn stains can sometimes appear, such as a dark, sticky residue.
In such cases, use a suede cleaner to scrub away the dirt.

Once the dirt is removed, brush the fur to make it even.
The pile can become flattened if you bump it against the corner of a desk or if it's stored for a long period of time.
In such cases, use a wire brush to fluff up the fur. Just fluffing up the fur can change the overall impression!
