Yoshida & Co., Ltd. (Yoshida Kaban), founded in 1935 by bag craftsman Yoshizo Yoshida, launched its own brand, "Porter," in 1962. Under the company motto of "dedication to every stitch," they continue to produce bags that are made in Japan. The brand name was chosen as a tribute to porters who handle guests' luggage at hotels and other establishments, as they are constantly in contact with bags and know their quality.
