Valextra was founded in Milan, Italy in 1937 by Giovanni Fontana. The name Valextra is a portmanteau of two words: Valigeria and Extra. Valigeria refers to travel bags, and Extra represents something special and of the highest quality. From its inception, Valextra has embodied a beautiful brand worldview in its products, blending Italian tradition and design with architecture, design, Milanese tradition, and refined aesthetics. Its style of deliberately not displaying a logo, and the artistry and quality created by the meticulous handiwork of its craftsmen, have captivated many people.
