In 1873, Thomas Church and his three sons founded Church's in Northampton, England, a city with a long history of leather goods and shoemaking since the Middle Ages. Within a few years of its founding, it grew from a small artisan workshop to a name that resonated in fashion-conscious London and other European cities. In 1921, the first Church's Church's store opened in London. In 1965, it was awarded the Queen's Award for Great Britain by Queen Elizabeth II, solidifying its position as an international brand.
