It all began in 1866 when Matias Pujadas opened a small workshop in Inca, Mallorca, to make custom-made shoes. In 1961, Matias's great-grandson, José Albaladejo, trained under a shoemaker in Florence and subsequently grew the company into one of Spain's leading shoemakers. Then, at the age of 60, José Albaladejo, along with his family, embarked on a new challenge to create the world's finest handcrafted shoes, combining all his shoemaking knowledge with the traditional techniques cultivated over generations. That was Carmina Shoemakers.
