Launched in 2017 at the Paris concept shop Colette, 19-69 is a culture and cosmetic brand created by Swedish artist Johan Bergelin. The number in the brand name symbolizes the counterculture movement of the 1960s and 70s, which ushered in a new era that did not follow the conventions of the past, represented by "1969." Born in 1969, Johan draws inspiration from his own real life experiences, influencing his work. As an artist, Johan traveled the world, encountering and being drawn to the beauty of various cultures that exist across borders. "There are many injustices in this world today. However, I have also discovered things that connect people. These may be fashion and music, or perhaps art and fragrance." Johan hopes that the fragrances of 19-69 will transcend borders, guiding many people seeking beauty and serving as a clue to understanding one another.
